Biography
Dr. Ann Latham is a licensed clinical psychologist and health service provider who has worked with children, adolescents and adults for many years. She earned her Ph.D. in 2000 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Early in her career she worked as a School Psychologist for schools in both rural and urban districts k-12 for several years. She transitioned into private practice in 2013. She provides both therapy and assessment services to children and adults, drawing primarily from a cognitive-behavioral approach but also incorporating elements from other modalities as well. She enjoys working with children of all ages, typically four years and above. Her background in the school setting allows her to collaborate with students, parents, and teachers to identify supports students need to grow as learners. She administers a wide range of psychological assessments to help diagnose concerns in development, learning abilities, executive function, mood and emotion, and general life functioning. In addition to providing assessment services, she loves working with children (8 and older), adolescents, and adults in a therapeutic relationship and tailoring techniques to the unique needs of her clients.

Therapist Statement
I feel it is a privilege to meet with people from all walks of life when they decide to try therapy as a tool to improve the quality of their lives. It takes courage and vulnerability to share one’s struggles with a therapist. Inherent in that inner strength, I believe everyone has the ability to open their hearts and minds to steer the direction of their lives. I am honored to be a catalyst on others’ personal journeys for greater contentment, self-awareness, meaningful living, and personal growth. Therapy can serve different purposes for different people – it can clarify, heal, inform, validate, inspire, reveal, educate, challenge, reassure, and push, and be a combination of all those things. As a professional, I work hard to keep my skills sharp to provide the most effective therapeutic tools and strategies to my clients in our collaborative work together.
I have been married to my husband Chris for 16 years and we have three children ages 15, 12, and 9. We enjoy family time together going on vacations, playing with our dog Chester, attending church together, spending time outside, making meals together, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones. We love Des Moines with all it offers in the performing arts, bike trails, wonderful coffee shops and restaurants, shopping and parks to explore! I usually have multiple books cued up on Audible, as much of my time is in the car running kids to sports, church, or dance.
