Biography:
Jason Van Zee is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He earned his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. His studies have focused on relationships in couples and families and the systems within which they live and how these systems affect those within.
I have witnessed in my own life and in the lives of others the power of healing relationships. In fact, I believe that relationships characterized by validation, kindness, and humor are vital for living a fulfilled and meaningful life. Therapy is a place where that kind of human connection meets therapeutic skill.
I provide individual, couples and family therapy, and I enjoy partnering with clients to address concerns related to communication and conflict, parenting, grief and loss, life transition, crisis and stress, depression, and anxiety. I have advanced specialized training in marital and family therapy from Drs. John and Julie Gottman. (https://gottmanreferralnetwork.com/therapists/jason-van-zee) From my experience, I am also skilled in working with individuals desiring to integrate faith into their treatment. While my approach in counseling usually involves specific schools of therapy such as Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I tailor my approach to meet your specific and unique needs.

Therapist’s Statement:
I love spending time with my wife of 15 years and four daughters. There isn’t a dull or quiet moment at our home. I have a huge love of the outdoors whether it be hunting and fishing or camping or hiking or simply sitting beside a campfire. The stillness of the outdoors brings peace. This prepares me to meet with clients where they are in life and to see life through their lens. Jason seeks to live an authentic, simple, and humble life.
