Biography:
Jason is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with nearly a decade of clinical experience. He earned his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. His counseling services include individual counseling, couples therapy and family therapy. Jason collaborates with clients who desire to identify and remove obstacles blocking their communication, connectedness and clarity. He provides an environment where you can safely work to be known, be accepted and be challenged to strengthen your own tools to repair and heal your relationships.
Jason commonly works with couples and families dealing with: communication breakdowns, unhealthy family dynamics and roles, parenting, and unhealthy emotional boundaries. He also engages in coming alongside women and men navigating issues of identity, codependency, anxiety, depression, shame, and grief.
Jason has witnessed in his own life and in the lives of others the power of healing relationships. In fact, he believes that relationships characterized by validation, kindness, and humor are vital for living a fulfilled and meaningful life. Therapy is a place where that kind of human connection meets therapeutic skill.
Jason has advanced specialized training in marital and family therapy from Drs. John and Julie Gottman.

Therapist’s Statement:
Jason seeks to live an authentic, simple and humble life. He and his wife have been married 16 years and have four daughters. He loves the outdoors and finds it centering whether it be camping or hiking or simply sitting beside a campfire. The stillness of the outdoors brings peace. Jason grew up in central Iowa and has lived in North Carolina, Mississippi and Missouri before returning to Iowa to start his practice.
