Shelley is passionate about working with children (3+), adolescents, teens, young adults and families. She assesses the unique needs of each person she works with and uses a variety of treatment approaches to best serve that person. She believes in focusing on the whole person (social networks, background, exterior stressors, and family dynamics) and digging to find the root cause of issues. Therapist’s Statement:

Ever since I was little, I have been drawn to help others. Growing up, I loved helping my friends work through issues they were having and have always been drawn to working with kids. As I have grown older and worked in the field, I have realized this is where I can best use the gifts God has given me. As a therapist, I strive to create an environment that feels safe and comfortable, while also building a trusting relationship with one another. I believe in finding each person’s strengths and gifts and building upon those to move toward one’s utmost potential. I am a strong believer in our environments and those we surround ourselves with playing a vital role in who we are as people. It is my goal to instill hope in my clients as I feel there is no problem “unfixable” and people have so much more resilience and abilities than they give themselves credit for. I am passionate about meeting people where they are and helping them create a pathway to where or who they want to be.

My husband and I have been married since May of 2021 and have the best doggo named Pepper who is training to be a therapy dog! In my free time, I enjoy reading a good book, doing puzzles, being active- especially outside, sports, spending time with family and friends, board games/yard games or anything with a little competition, and enjoying life through laughter and quality time with others. If you choose me as your therapist, I look forward to coming alongside you and supporting you or your family in this journey.
